about the artist
Thank you for visiting my online shop. My name is Isabella Hackerman and I am a ceramics artist and instructor based in southern California. I use clay to create functional and decorative pottery with a flirty vibe. My pieces are inspired by lace, lingerie, and other romantic motifs. This inspiration comes from a lifetime of being a hopeless romantic drawn to hedonistic fulfillment. As a child I was enamored by the visuals of movies such as Moulin Rouge and Chicago, and I thought the outfits and costumes were the ideal dress code. The lace, fishnet, and glamour are symbols of fierce, courageous, and powerful women; and I love making pottery that looks and feels as fierce as those characters in fishnet.
My pieces are made to make your world feel a little more fierce. You could sip coffee from a handmade mug, store your favorite pens in a decorative cup, or stash your earrings in a trinket dish. There are so many ways to elevate your space with a handmade, sexy object from my shop.
I truly appreciate your visit to my shop today. Feel free to share this with someone you think would enjoy a dash of sexy pottery in their life. If you are interested in learning more about clay and what to set up a private session, please check out the services I offer and email any questions to isabellahackerman@gmail.com

When I am not working on my own pieces, you can find me in a classroom sharing my knowledge with the community. I have taught at studios throughout Los Angeles such as AMOCA, Pot LA, and Green & Bisque Clayhouse. I also taught as an adjunct professor at Santa Monica College, Long Beach City College, and Chaffey College. Sharing my skills and techniques with the community is such a rewarding experience. If you want to learn more about pottery, or would like your portfolio reviewed, please book a 30 minute consultation. If you are interested in adding a clay activity to you your next event, email me at isabellahackerman@gmail.com; I can accommodate parties of 3 -12 people .
